VP of Marketing

Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategist and analyst for all marketing and communications efforts of PYP.
  • Develop and maintain the annual PYP Marketing & Communication Plan, as well as all event and program marketing plans. Tasks include: Review and report on monthly communications KPIs, Develop new strategies to reach our target audiences 
  • Create regular digital content to promote the organization and mission of PYP including blog posts, video content, social media, and others as needed. 
  • Works closely with the Chair of Connection Marketing, the Chair of Workforce Development Marketing, and the Chair of Community Impact Marketing to collect content and create marketing plans for each area. 

Responsibilities of the Board

The mission of Pensacola Young Professionals is to develop, retain, and connect young professionals to the community and each other.

As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for:

  • determining the mission and purposes of the organization
  • strategic and organizational planning
  • ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management
  • fundraising and resource development
  • approving and monitoring the organization’s programs and services
  • enhancing the organization’s public image
  • assessing its own performance as the governing body of the organization

Responsibilities of Individual Board Members

Each individual board member is expected to:

  • Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs
  • Faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements
  • Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission
  • Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy
  • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings
  • Participate fully in one or more committees
  • Eagerly communicate with PYP members—new and established—to solicit their ideas and help them become/remain actively engaged in the organization
  • Raise any general membership matters at board meetings or to the President or President-Elect when necessary
  • Evaluate each event and program at its conclusion and provide feedback for improvement.

Selection Process

  • Submit Your Application
    Submit your application by the deadline to be considered for any of our positions. We’ll follow up to schedule your peer interview once applications close.
  • Peer Interview
    We’ll conduct peer interviews with a panel comprised of PYP leaders and members. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you as much as it is for you to get to know us.
  • Decisions
    Once the panel makes a decision you’ll receive a call with the results. If you’re offered a position, we invite you to join us at our next board meeting where we’ll vote to make it official.
  • Board Meeting
    The board will vote to accept your nomination. After this meeting, we’ll reach out with next steps on your transition. We can’t wait to get started with you!
