Takes a leading role in promoting PYP within the community and identifying opportunities to increase the organization’s visibility, membership, and partnerships. Responsible for coordinating PYP’s presence at community events, festivals, and activities where marketing and recruitment opportunities exist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for PYP to host marketing and recruitment booths or tables at community events such as Gallery Night, Palafox Market, Blue Wahoos games, Pensacola Ice Flyers games, and similar initiatives.
- Manage the booth, vendor, and event registration process on behalf of PYP.
- Create and manage a schedule for Leadership Team members to staff booths and outreach events.
- Ensure PYP has appropriate promotional and recruitment materials available for outreach events.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Public Relations to ensure outreach efforts align with the organization’s brand, messaging, and marketing goals.
- Identify additional community initiatives, events, and opportunities where PYP leadership can attend to promote the organization, recruit members, and cultivate sponsors and partners.
- Work closely with other committees to promote PYP events, programs, and initiatives through outreach efforts.
- Assist with capturing photos and content at outreach events for marketing and social media use.
- Serve as an ambassador for PYP, representing the organization professionally and enthusiastically in the community.
The Chair of Community Outreach reports to the Vice President of Public Relations and serves on the Communications Committee.
Responsibilities of Chairs as Members of the Leadership Team
The mission of Pensacola Young Professionals is to develop, retain, and connect young professionals to the community and each other. Chair positions are a part of the leadership team, but are not voting members of the Board of Directors. Chair positions are entry-level positions designed to provide members with opportunities to get involved in the organization and learn more about the organization.
Each individual Chair is expected to:
- Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs
- Participate fully in their committee and attend board meetings when called upon
- Prepare for and attend all program meetings
- Regularly attend organizational events and provide assistance as needed
- Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and assist with identifying financial resources, sponsorship opportunities, and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission
- Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing
- Communicate with PYP members—new and established—to solicit their ideas and help them become/remain actively engaged in the organization
- Raise any general membership matters at committee meetings or to the President or President-Elect when necessary
- Evaluate each event and program at its conclusion and provide feedback for improvement
- Utilize PYP’s Slack channel for regular board communication
- Download and become familiar with GlueUp to assist with attendee check-in as needed.
