20 Years of Impact

Celebrating the people and stories behind PYP.

Serving as President of Pensacola Young Professionals was a rewarding leadership experience centered on strengthening member engagement and advancing PYP’s mission to Connect, Advance, Support, and Engage. During my term, we focused on listening to members, refining the membership journey, and expanding hands‑on service and professional development opportunities. This included deeper Saturday service initiatives, such as adopting Dunwoody Park with Keep Pensacola Beautiful, and continued participation in community conversations around workforce development and retaining young talent.

We also expanded PYP’s community impact through special initiatives, including the Youth Peace Walk for the International Day of Peace and youth‑focused programming like Legal Kids Day with the Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast. A meaningful moment near the close of my presidency was PYP’s involvement in the transition of the 4th of July Fireworks Show. After more than 30 years, the Sertoma Club of Pensacola stepped down following the 2022 event, allowing PYP and the Greater Pensacola Chamber to take on leadership for the 2023 show. PYP shadowed Sertoma during the transition, with continued support from the City of Pensacola, Escambia County, and local partners. The new leadership shifted the launch site to the Port of Pensacola, improving visibility, logistics, and scale, marking a significant step in PYP’s role as a trusted community partner.

Celebrating 15 years of Pensacola Young Professionals alongside past presidents reinforced that while leadership changes, PYP’s purpose remains constant: developing young professionals while leaving Pensacola stronger for the next generation. I'm even more excited to celebrate 20 years this upcoming fall at the Blue Wahoos Stadium!
